The topic of Self Love is so important and yet people don't talk about it enough. Sometimes it's okay and necessary to put yourself first.

"No other relationship can thrive unless my own relationship with myself is in a good place."

The beautiful Morgan Alexandra Hewett as our K.BLU Women We Know - She talked about her past abusive relationship and how she came back better and stronger than before.

Hi Morgan, thank you so much for being a part of our K.BLU Women!  We have heard you are from U.S, graduated from Columbia, an ivy league alike your folks who went to Stanford, another ivy league. Share one distinct story about how you survive the school years.

In America, we have a slightly different view on university than in Asia. In the US, we often regard networking as one of the most important opportunities of university. When you attend an ivy league, you have access to people who are or who are going to be extremely successful. Relationships with these people will be beneficial to your career for the rest of your life. My advice to Ivy League students would be to be as intentional about making friends as they are about studying! My friendships got me through the most stressful times of University and continue to be more valuable than any book I read in school.

You work in Facebook! A great place of interest at the moment! (not only its one of the best working place in the world). What are you doing currently and what are your experiences so far working in FB Singapore.

I help businesses launch marketing campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. My job is incredibly fun, fast paced and creative. As a young woman, I am very appreciative that I was able to start my career at a company like Facebook, where leaders value the opinions of young people and where women are fully supported. At Facebook, I've been able to find countless female mentors and see strong career women excel both personally and professionally. These women have pushed me to take risks and go after my dreams, such as moving to Asia!

Black Panther, we are so crazy over it. Yay or Nay for you and who do you like? If not this show, which is the best movie you have watched recently?

Of course I loved Black Panther! My favorite character is Okoye, the lead warrior. She is such a badass! I watched Black Panther in Singapore and it was quite interesting for me to see how much the Singaporean audience connected with the film. From speaking to my African, Indian, and Asian friends, I learned that Black Panther is about much more than the Black/ African experience, it is a story that all colonized people can relate to. It is about taking back our narratives from colonizers.

Which American Fashion Designer do you like?

I am really into Halston Heritage. The cuts are super flattering on curves and give you that hourglass silhouette that we all want. Their shapes are very classy, which makes some of their dresses perfect for standing out at a work cocktail event. To spice up their looks, I add a fun statement heel.

What is your ideal holiday?

Beach and music. My favorite holiday would have great clubs so that I can dance the night away and a beautiful beach so that I can nap and recover by the ocean the next day.

What or who are your style influences?

New York is my style influence! My biggest lesson from living in New York is that you can never be over-dressed. Regardless of your age, weight, or gender, you deserve to look and feel fabulous. I never fear looking like I am "trying too hard". Instead, I delight in standing out from the crowd.

What is the hardest life hurdle you’ve gone through and what did you take away from it?

The most difficult hurdle I went through was surviving and thriving after an abusive relationship. That relationship broke me down mentally and physically and it took all of the courage inside of me to get myself out. It taught me that I need to love myself more than I love others. This journey towards self love is still something that I actively work on every day. Love is unbounded. Loving and pampering yourself does not take away from your love for others, it only adds.

What is the one life lesson you learned that can’t be taught in school?

That I am the most important person in my life. No other relationship can thrive unless my own relationship with myself is in a good place.

What is your definition of success?

Being excited to wake up in the morning.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Using my skills in marketing and advertising to spur entrepreneurship and more positively impact the world.

Is there a song lyric or a quote you live by?

"I choose me."
